»  Infonetics: Optical Network Hardware in Asia Pacific 2009 report (July 10, 2009)

The 2009 report from Infonetics Research shows a fast growth pace in optical network hardware at Asia Pacific Region in 2008, led by India (up 35% from 2007), Japan (up 25%), and China (up 12%). For comparison, optical network hardware vendor revenue grew 7% in EMEA and declined 4% in North America.

In Asia Pacific Region Huawei maintains leading position as top vendor, followed by ZTE and NEC. On the basis of single-country optical capex spending, China stands in top one, followed by Japan, Korea and India respectively.

»  2,500 homes roll out program for next phase in (Apr 10, 2009)

With the marvelous outcomes that meet overall technical expectations for 100 fiber to the home subscribers as its first pilot program in UK has been successfully accomplished during March.


The main fiber management company that partnering with Coretech in this project commented "Good results from a testing perspective." Meanwhile confirmed schedule to work on roll-out program for the next phase-in will be 2,500 homes starting from this May.


»  Partnership with NAIA (Mar 20, 2009)

Coretech has set up the cooperation and service platform with North American Importers Association (NAIA) to acquire and serve a much broad wide customers in North America. Coretech later on will provide its competitive and high quality fiber optic products to NAIA's distinguished importer members. »  Updated global FTTH ranking (Feb 12, 2009)

FTTH Council has announced its global FTTH ranking in Copenhagen on Feb 12,2009.
South Korea (44% of market penetration), Hong Kong (28%), Japan (27%) and Taiwan (12%) stay in the top four places respectively.
For the overall number of fibre-connected homes, Japan (13.2 million), the United States (6.05 million) and China (5.96 million) are the top three leaders.

»  Pilot test started in UK Ftth deployment (Feb. 11, 2009)

Coretech collaborately design the outdoor type splitter module for GPON application throuth sewer system in UK fiber to the home deployment. With 80,000 home subscribers for initial launch, the project scheduled on Feb. 2009 to roll out its pilot for interoperability test. According to the timetable, the official move-in will be activated on Q2, 2009.


»  Bookham, Avanex merge finally (Jan. 28, 2009)

Bookham and Avanex have finally reached an agreement to merge in an all-stock transaction. Avanex shareholders will receive 5.426 shares of Bookham common stock for every share of Avanex common stock and will own approximately 46.75% of the combined company.

Based on the closing price of Bookham stock on January 26, 2009, the total consideration to Avanex shareholders would be $35.4 million, or $2.17 per share. The deal is expected to close in three to six months. More details please visit lw.pennnet.com or www.photonics.com

»  Qualification approved by Japanese end user (Jun. 25, 2008)

Apollo Trading Corporation has visited Coretech with its Japanese end user on June 24. A consequent audit was also done by the technician and director in charge. Out of the 6 vendors being evaluated from Taiwan, China and Korea, Coretech is the sole vendor that passed the strict environmental and mechanical test. The later on bilateral cooperation agreement will soon be issued.


»  FTTH annual conference 2008, Kuala Lumpur (Jun. 2, 2008)

On July 22~23, Coretech will attend and exhibit at FTTH annual conference 2008 in Malaysia.
This conference will highlight the latest trends in Fibre To The Home (FTTH) in the Asia Pacific region and wider Geographical areas with speakers from regional governments, regional and international carriers, equipment suppliers and experts in the FTTH field of operation. The latest market statistics and direction for FTTH as a worldwide overview will be presented. Regional policy from some selected countries relating to telecommunications access, broadband (FTTH) government initiatives and plans.

»  FTTH Global Ranking (Apr. 16, 2008)

FTTH Council has just released the global FTTH ranking dated February 2008. According to the report, Asian economies continue to outpace the Fttx market penetration. South Korea leads the top position with 31.4 percent of households connected (FTTB). Hong Kong (FTTB) at 23.4 percent and Japan (FTTH) at 21.3 percent follow by the next. Taiwan (FTTB) at 6.8 percent ranks no. five.
This report also indicates Japan, China and USA shows a strong growth with nearly 6 million new FTTH households added over the past one year. Meanwhile Slovenia, Iceland and Singapore were the new entries with 1 percent household penetration.
